Cleaning Routine and the "2-Minute Rule"

I asked my sister, Lora, whose house is always clean what her cleaning routine is throughout the week. Here it is:

Monday- laundry
Tuesday- bathrooms
Wednesday- floors (vacuum, sweep and mop kitchen)
Thursday- dusting
Friday- whatever I failed to do earlier in the week, or nothing!

Notice that she only has 1 chore for each day, but that chore affects the entire house! My cleaning routines have always included an attempt at making the whole house clean, or even one room ENTIRELY clean, and it never worked, because what mom has that kind of time? She also told me that she makes sure the kids' toys and stuff are picked up before bed, which helps give a good start the next morning. So, I'm going to try my sister's method and see if it works for me. Let me know if it works for you, or if you have a different successful routine that you live by!

ALSO, here's a tip my old roommate, Steph, shared with me:

If something needs to be done and it can be done in less than 2 minutes, just do it right then. Example: take out the trash, fold a few towels, send a thank you card, load the breakfast dishes.
